Getting started
How long until my agent is live?+
5 business days from when you complete onboarding. Most of that time is A2P 10DLC carrier approval — we submit on day 1, carriers approve in 2-5 days. You can start using voice immediately while SMS approval is pending.
What do I need to provide to launch?+
(1) Your business info: legal name, EIN, business address. (2) Your existing customer list (CSV) if you want outbound campaigns. (3) Your Cal.com link or whichever calendar you want bookings to go to. (4) Your top 5 services + pricing comfort. We walk you through everything in the onboarding wizard.
Do I need to keep my existing phone system?+
No — we provision a new number from Vapi at no extra cost. If you want to keep an existing number, we can either port it (5-10 days, cleanest) or set up forwarding (24 hours, slight latency). Note: Google Voice numbers cannot be ported.
Pricing & billing
What counts as a text conversation?+
All SMS messages with one customer in a 24-hour rolling window count as 1 conversation, no matter how many messages. So if a customer texts back-and-forth 8 times in one day, that's 1 conversation.
What counts as a voice minute?+
Each call is rounded up to the nearest minute. Calls cap at 5 minutes by default to control your cost — the agent will offer to text the rest if a customer needs more time.
What happens when I hit my cap?+
You don't get cut off. We email you at 80% and 100% so you're not surprised. Overage is billed at $0.45/text conversation and $0.35/voice minute, calculated at month end.
Can I get a refund?+
All payments are non-refundable. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months or canceled contracts. If we materially fail to deliver and can't resolve within 30 days, you may receive a credit (not cash) for unused pre-paid fees.
How does the founding cohort lock-in work?+
If you join the founding cohort (first 15 clients), your pre-launch monthly rate is locked for the lifetime of your account. New tier launches and price increases never apply to you.
Your AI agent
Will it actually sound natural?+
On voice: very close. We use ElevenLabs voice models tuned for your industry. Customers occasionally ask if it's a real person. On SMS: yes, fully natural — texting is where AI agents excel.
Can it book appointments directly to my calendar?+
Yes. We connect to your Cal.com link, which routes to your Google/Outlook/Apple calendar. The agent checks availability and books in real time.
What if the agent makes a mistake?+
You can take over any conversation from your dashboard with one click. The agent will hand off seamlessly. We track every escalation so you can flag patterns and we can retune the prompt.
Can I see what the agent is saying?+
Yes — every conversation, every transcript, every voice recording is in your dashboard. You can watch live conversations as they happen.
What about emergencies?+
Each industry has built-in escalation triggers. For example, an HVAC agent escalates immediately on 'gas smell' or 'no heat with elderly resident.' You can customize these in your onboarding wizard.
Compliance & privacy
Is this TCPA compliant?+
Yes for inbound replies (no consent required to reply to a message a customer sent first). For outbound campaigns, you must have proper consent from each contact — our platform requires you confirm consent before sending. STOP unsubscribes are enforced automatically.
Do you store my customers' messages?+
Yes — we store conversation history so the agent has context for follow-ups. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell or share customer data with advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Am I responsible for what the agent says?+
Yes. You're responsible for monitoring your agent's performance and the business outcomes of conversations. We provide tools to review every interaction — use them, especially in the first 2 weeks.

Yes — delegate.ai/status shows current uptime for all services we depend on.
What if Anthropic or Vapi goes down?+
We display a banner in your dashboard when an upstream provider is degraded. The agent auto-retries on transient failures. For sustained outages, you'll receive an email with status updates.
